7.5 Distance Between 2 Points Essential Question: How can you use the Pythagorean Theorem or distance formula to find the distance between two points? Tape in graphs on the left side of the line (you will take notes on the rights side of each of them)

Example 3: Find the distances between the points to the nearest tenth. (4, 0) and (5, -3) d = (5 – 4)² + (–3 – 0)² Substitute. d = (1)² + (–3)² Subtract. d = 1 + 9 Simplify powers. The distance is about 3.2 units.
