Patent Policy and Procedures: The contributor is familiar with the IEEE 802 Patent Policy and Procedures http://standards.ieee.org/guides/bylaws/sb-bylaws.pdf including the statement "IEEE standards may include the known use of patent(s), including patent applications, provided the IEEE receives assurance from the patent holder or applicant with respect to patents essential for compliance with both mandatory and optional portions of the standard." Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair Apurva Mody <apurva.mody@ieee.org> as early as possible, in written or electronic form, if patented technology (or technology under patent application) might be incorporated into a draft standard being developed within the IEEE 802.22 Working Group. September 2013 doc.: IEEE 802.22-12-0141-00-000b September 2013 Abstracts In this document, we propose modification of existing 802.22b frame structure which have unnecessary time gap Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI

September 2013 IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure IEEE 802.22b frame structures under central R-CPE Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI

September 2013 IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure IEEE 802.22b frame structures under distributed R-CPE Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI

September 2013 IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure IEEE 802.22b frame structures have 4 kinds time gap, which are defined as follows TTG : MR-BS from Tx to Rx transition time gap RTTG : RCPE from Tx to Rx transition time gap ? RRTG : RCPE from Rx to Tx transition time gap ? RTG : MR-BS from Rx to Tx transition time gap Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI

IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure Transmitter or Receiver for each time gap September 2013 IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure Transmitter or Receiver for each time gap Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI

IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure Variations of frame structure 1 September 2013 IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure Variations of frame structure 1 Variation of frame structure 2 Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI

IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure Variations of frame structure 3 September 2013 IEEE 802.22b Frame Structure Variations of frame structure 3 This variation is very similar with 802.22 standard Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI

September 2013 Conclusions From nature of transition time gap, IEEE 802.22b existing frame structures do not need TTG and RRTG For arrangement of AZ and CRZ, AZ-CRZ-AZ-CRZ is the better sequence in terms of time resource efficiency Variation 3 is close to original WLAN frame structure in terms of location of TTG and RTG Gwangzeen Ko, ETRI
