Character Motivations Assignment The reasons for a character’s behavior. Can come from internal sources (ambition, insecurity, shyness) Can come from external sources (poverty, a parent, society) In your groups, discuss and answer the following analysis questions: How are Dexter’s two ambitions - achieving material success and winning Judy’s hand - tied together? How do you picture Judy’s character from what she says and does in the story? Why can’t Dexter fully escape from Judy’s magnetic charms?
