Thousands of people are feared dead and hundreds of thousands have been forced from their homes after Typhoon Haiyan ripped through the Philippines.

Homes have been flattened by surging floods and powerful winds Homes have been flattened by surging floods and powerful winds. Whole villages have been swept away.

Fields and villages are flooded Fields and villages are flooded. Trees, cars and electricity lines have been scattered by winds of up to 200 miles an hour.

People are in emergency shelters with little access to basic services People are in emergency shelters with little access to basic services. They urgently need food, blankets, basic first-aid kits and cooking utensils.
