Presentation transcript:

“Beloved sweetheart bastard”

“It will blind you with tears like a lover.”

Oxymoron shows her conflicted emotions over her lost love Thin line between love and hate. Plosives to create a harsh, spiteful tone. Word choice of “beloved” and “sweetheart” show that she cannot forget the love she once felt Word choice of “bastard” suggests violent hatred and vengeance

Simile Accepts the truth about love Love isn’t all perfect and happy Acknowledges there can be negative aspects of relationships and falling in love onion’s scent compared to hurting the one you love. Just like the scent of an onion stings eye so can the actions of a lover cause you pain even without meaning to cause pain.
