Read with a Question in Mind Reading Comprehension Strategy By Michelle Bridwell

When approaching a reading assignment, enter the text thinking—read with a conscious purpose Reading with mere compliance in mind, and not comprehension, wastes valuable time Questions in Mind

Q=Question What information do you hope to gain from reading the material? What do you already know about this topic? What do you think the author might say? SQ3R

Question: Turn each of the main points found in the introduction, headings, topic sentences, or summary into a question. Use these questions to guide your reading. SQ3R

Today we are going to read a very short article about teens and driver’s licenses. You probably have ideas and opinions about this topic. However, something has changed recently about teens getting their licenses. What do you think that might be? Example
