General View One PHY definition similar to sub-GHz ones defined in IEEE802.15.4B/4C. The designed Tx/Rx mainly applied for in-door hospital/clinic/senior house environment. The Tx/Rx adopting this PHY may detect interference and switch to free band adaptively The data rate is not only 250Kb/s L. Li, Vinno; W. X. Zou, BUPT; G. L. Du, BUPT

doc.: IEEE 802.15-<doc#> <month year> doc.: IEEE 802.15-<doc#> Proposal Definition Data Rate: 250Kb/s and 500 Kb/s Band Width: 2MHz and 4MHz 4MHz bandwidth is used for 500kb/s and 2MHz bandwidth is for 250kb/s. Operation Frequency Bands: 608-630MHz, 407- 425MHz Fc=408 + 2k, k= 0, ….., 8 Fc=409 + 4k, k= 0 ,…. , 3 Fc=609 + 2k, k= 0, ….., 10 Fc=610 + 4k, k= 0, ….. , 4 L. Li, Vinno; W. X. Zou, BUPT; G. L. Du, BUPT <author>, <company>

Bandwidth, Data Rate and Chip Rate Chip rate is 1Mchip/s and 2Mchip/s for 2MHz and 4MHz bandwidth correspondingly. The 16-ary symbol (consists of 16 continues chips) rate is 62.5ksym/s and 125ksym/s. hence the data rate is log216×62.5=250kb/s and log216×125=500kb/s. L. Li, Vinno; W. X. Zou, BUPT; G. L. Du, BUPT

MAC Modification MAC Modification includes: Channel detection and selection to prevent interference from other system (broadcast radio). Synchronization among BANs for co-channel interference elimination. Super-frame optimization to support various application demand and multi-priority data transmission. Reliable data confidentiality and alarm scheme. TBD… L. Li, Vinno; W. X. Zou, BUPT; G. L. Du, BUPT

Conclusion New PHY proposal focus on applications in in-door environment at medical service sites One simple PHY proposal, proven in 4B and 4C. Data rate up to 500kb/s (4MHz bandwidth) could satisfy most applications’ need with the same modulation and spreading function will reduce the realization complexity much more. Interference Detection is necessary MAC Modification is expected. L. Li, Vinno; W. X. Zou, BUPT; G. L. Du, BUPT
