Classwork Everyday class will begin with a routine “Do Now” Board Assignment. You are expected to work on this independently after you enter the room. Answers can be found in homework or previous days notes. These “Do Nows” will be graded and will part of your classwork grade.

Grades You earn your grades; teachers do not randomly give them. NGM’S grading system: Homework 10% Classwork 30% Tests/Projects 40% Quizzes 20% 10 point scale this year A 90-100, B 80-89, C 70-79 D 60-69, F Below 59

Tests/Test Corrections Students will be given a review sheet or play a review game before each test. Students who score below 70, will get a chance to retake the test for a better grade. The highest grade possible will be an 70.

Cheating Will not be tolerated and will result in a failing grade and a parent contact. The testing environment is very important to the success of every student, therefore no student is to talk, gesture, or do anything that is distracting during a test.

Extra Credit/Late Work Late work is accepted 1 day after the due date, however…70 points will be the highest grade possible. Due to the late work and test correction policies, NO EXTRA CREDIT IS GIVEN!

Contacting/Responding/Talking Raise your hand to ask or answer a question without being accompanied by a verbal outburst. The only stupid question is the one not on the topic discussed. Talking is PROHIBITED during fire drills, assemblies, when announcements are made, while teacher is talking.

Quiet Signal My signal for getting students to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN is a count down from 5. Whenever students hear the count down, they should stop what they are doing and give their undivided attention by 1.

Behavior Formula for Success: Be respectful, responsible, prepared, and safe. Consequences: First Time: Verbal and/or Written warning Second Time: Time out and/or lunch detention/parent contact 3rd Time: Written up for ICS/referral sent home 4th Time: Written up for ISS/referral sent home Note: Severe actions may constitute an immediate referral!
