Konstantin Velichkov 1855-1907
Biography Konstantin Velichkov was born in 1855 in Pazardzhik. He was a student in the class school in Pazardzhik and then continued his education in a French college in Turkey. After his graduation he began working as a teacher of Bulgarian and French. He was also an active member of a national committee aiming at liberating Bulgarian from Ottoman domination. He died in 1907 in France. The High school of Mathematics in Pazardzhik bears his name.
Political career 1885-1907 1894-1897 he was minister of education. In 1894 he became minister of public buildings, roads and communications. 1894-1897 he was minister of education. 1897-1898 he was minister of trade and agriculture.
