“You can find magic wherever you look “You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.” - Dr. Seuss You are invited to join Southwest Elementary School for Relax and Read, a free literacy event for all. Southwest’s literacy event, Relax and Read, is geared toward bringing families, educators, and students together to support children’s reading development. During the event, Dr. Kenneth Robinson and Ms. Tish Robertson, of United Way Team Read, will speak on the importance of reading, give tips on ways to build a child’s love of reading at home, and provide opportunities to see and experience literacy learning in action. Date: Friday, March 4, 2016 Time: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Location: Southwest Elementary Cafeteria and Classrooms RELAX and READ MOTIVATING CHILDREN TO READ
