QUICK WRITE EXERCISE You will break into your task groups to share your stories. (#7 in the book) This should take you no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Have a discussion and identify common themes in your notebook (or computer). Example: Columbus was impressed with the kindess of Native Americans. Insert a map of your country.

WHAT WERE THE COLONISTS LIKE? Determine with your task group the reasons why Europeans were coming over to this strange, new land. 1. What was in it for them? 2. Primarily which countries were they coming from? Insert a picture of one of the geographic features of your country.
