Title: Density Cube Lab Research Question: How can the density help us identify the material something is made of? Background information: Density: The amount of matter in a given amount of space (characteristic property) Mass: The amount of matter in an object Volume: The amount of space in an object Density = Mass Volume

Procedure 1. Find the mass using the balance 2. Repeat measurement for each cube twice 3.Find volume using water displacement 4. Repeat measurement for each cube twice 5. Calculate density m/v 6. Wash hands, clean up 7. Record data on computer
