Fred Five the Ladybird Hello Once upon a time there was a little ladybird called Fred. Click on Fred to say hello. They called him Fred Five because he had 5 spots . Let’s count them together.

Fred has lots of brothers and sisters. Click on the screen to meet them. Sarah Ben Fred Sue Mary

They all looked different but there was something that they all had in common.... Can you spot it? Tom Sarah Ben Fred Sue Mary

Let’s look a little more closely at Sarah’s spots Let’s look a little more closely at Sarah’s spots.... Can you write a number sentence for Sarah? My spots add up to 5. Sarah 1 + 4 = 5

Let’s look a little more closely at Tom’s spots.... My spots add up to 5. Tom 3 + 2 = 5

How many spots does Ben have? My spots add up to 5. Ben 4 + 1 = 5

What about Mary? My spots add up to 5. Mary 2 + 3 = 5

How many spots do you think Sue has? My spots add up to 5. Sue 5 + 0 = 5

Oh, and don’t forget Fred. My spots add up to 5. Fred 0 + 5 = 5

So they were all part of the Five family, and they all had 5 spots. 0 + 5 = 5 3 + 2 = 5 4 + 1 = 5 1 + 4 = 5 2 + 3 = 5 5 + 0 = 5
