Tutorial 1 In this tutorial, create the contoured site plan for an apartment complex on the basis of Figure 23. Figure 23 Sketch plan for creating the site plan with contours, site components, and building pads

The following steps are required to complete this tutorial: Open a new project file using the default template file and open the Site Plan view. Create reference planes to assist in sketching contours. Modify the site setting to create additional contours at 1’0” intervals Use the Toposurface tool to sketch the contours, refer to Figures 24 through 26.

Figure 24 Picking points to sketch the lowest topographical surface of the site plan Figure 25 Picking points to sketch the topographical surface at 5’0” level

Figure 26 Picking points to sketch the third topographical surface at 10’0” level

Create the property line using the reference planes and the Property Line tool, refer to Figure 27. Figure 27 Property line created for the site plan

Add building pads using the Building Pad tool, refer to Figures 28 through 30. Figure 28 Creating reference planes and adding the building pad (highlighted)

Use the Subregion tool to create roads, refer to Figures 31 and 32. Figure 31 Creating the road profile (highlighted) using the Subregion tool

Add parking components using the Parking Component tool, refer to Figures 33 through 35. Figure 33 Adding the parking component Figure 34 Creating an array of the parking components
