Email: ademel@elkhartisd.org Phone: 903-764-2979 Conference M -T - F- 2:30-3:15 W -Th -8:05-8:50 Week of October 16,2017 10/20- Fire Escape Route Due (Health Grade) 10/20-Homecoming 10/20-Homecoming Elementary Parade 8:30 a.m. 10/23-27-Red Ribbon Week Dress Up Days MONDAY- (WEAR RED, WHITE AND BLUE) TUESDAY- (PICK A FRIEND AND DRESS ALIKE) WEDNESDAY-( NO PARTICULAR DRESS DAY) THURSDAY- (WEAR ALL RED) FRIDAY-(DRESS AS A SUPER HERO OR A SOLDIER) 10/30- Progress Reports 10/31- Halloween Dress Up Day Parade 8:30 a.m. 11/11- Fall Fest Bradley Griffin Language Arts and Reading- In spelling we will focus on long e, using ea, ee, e, and y. We will focus on cause and effect, prefixes, and multiple meaning words. Please study spelling and vocabulary every night, the words are becoming more difficult. Math- We will start Unit 5. This unit will explore adding ones and tens. Adding and subtracting on a 100 chart, and finding the missing parts of 100. Science-Earth and Space Social Studies- Community Helpers, Government, and Christopher Columbus. Health-Safety and Drug Prevention HOMECOMING IS ON FRIDAY! WEAR YOUR RED AND BLUE! GO ELKS!!!! I am looking for someone to buy and donate a pumpkin for our class to carve. If you would like to do this please let me know as soon as possible, so that I can notify everyone else. I would love to have it on or before 10/27/17. Thank you for all that you do! We will not have a Halloween party, but it would great if you would like to send treats on October 31st! Students need 10 points between October 10th-November 10th with an 80% average for the 2nd 6 week prize. Second grade students must have 35 points and an 80% average for the Fall Party before December 15th. We are beginning to enter into a very BUSY time of year for everyone at school, work, and home. Please make sure and look for dates that I place in our newsletter.
