The Social Contract Please review our social contract. How will these behaviors help our revision activity today?

Clocking 11. In pairs, you will analyze a part of each other’s papers (Five minutes each). When done, you will share with your partner what you found. Finally, the outside desks will stand up and move on desk to the right.

Step 1: Introductions Label the three parts of an introduction: Hook Transition Thesis Write notes on how they can improve. Could they change a word? Could they delete a part? Could they be more specific in their thesis?

Step 2: First Body Paragraph Read their body paragraph. Insert details that could improve the imagery/specificity of their example. Circle the parts of their explanation that prove their thesis. Draw a line back to what part of the thesis it supports.

Step 3: Second Body Paragraph Read their body paragraph. Insert details that could improve the imagery/specificity of their example. Circle the parts of their explanation that prove their thesis. Draw a line back to what part of the thesis it supports.

Step 4: Conclusions Read the conclusion. Summarize its message in a sentence next to it. Make any suggestions for how they could improve. Could they tie it back to the simile in their hook/introduction? Could they be more specific in what they are telling readers to know/how to act? Could certain words be improved so they are not informal?

Step 5: Grammar Usage and Mechanics Re-read the entire paper. Mark any grammatical errors that you can find. If you have a question, ask Mr. Green!
