Welcome to Math!

Rules Keep hands to yourself! Show respect to yourself, peers, and adults! Be prepared and keep all items you don’t need for math in your locker! Raise your hand for permission to talk or get out of your seat! Be responsible for your trash!

Consequences A warning and/or a phone call home Phone call home 30 minute detention The referral will be sent to the office

FYI You may only use 3 passes per quarter! You must have your agenda to leave the room! If you are late more than 3 times, you will receive a detention!

Remember, this is MY classroom! I will choose your seats and you will keep that seat. Do not move ANY furniture unless you are asked by me. Always leave things the way you found them. Do not get out of your seat unless you have permission for ANY REASON!

Everyday Procedures Have your math binder on your desk. Have your math review section open when the period bell rings and have your homework out. Look on the board for the agenda. When I ring the bell your mouths should be closed and I should have your FULL attention.

A typical day includes… Math Review Homework Review New Lesson/Activity Center Mental Math Expect homework 4 times a week!

Math Review There will be a Math Review quiz every other Friday! You will have 3 review questions everyday that you will complete in the Math Review section of your binder. You are expected to attempt each problem everyday. You should ask for help if you aren’t sure how to solve a problem only AFTER you’ve looked for the solution yourself. There will be a Math Review quiz every other Friday!

Group Work I will pick your groups and they will be your groups for the unit. Everyone will work together or you will work by yourself. When I ring my bell, you are to stop talking and give me your full attention! Each person will be assigned a role in the group.
