General Expectations during Prelims Attend your usual timetabled classes. Use of class time is determined by class teachers – can be used for internal assessment catch up, individual or small group support, revision for exams. Check and know exact times and locations in advance - “Daily Information Board”. Be aware of additional assessment arrangements. For some afternoon exams, you will be entitled to an early lunch at 12.15. If an exam finishes after morning break, return to class no later than 10 minutes after end of exam. If you are ill or unable to come into school - contact the school office as early as possible. School Closure (e.g. due to weather); exams will be re-scheduled. School uniform should be worn at all times.

Exam Day Expectations … Be outside the exam room 15 minutes in advance. Be respectful of the invigilators & follow their instructions. Be aware of rooming & seat numbers. Be equipped; subject specific equipment. Bags and jackets - placed carefully in locations highlighted by the invigilators No phones or electronic/ smart devices Only water in exam rooms – placed on the floor Use only black or blue biro pen – no gel pens Behave in a manner that allows you and your peers the opportunity to succeed. Toilets – go before the start. You must remain silent in the examination room until the end of the exam.

Study Tips … Small, short chunks of time; 30-45 mins. Specific study times in a routine. Create flash cards. Create realistic focus goals Teach others! Practice, practice, practice. Designated study space. Avoid music. Put your mobile phone away!
