JOINT INJURIES Dislocations – An Injury to the soft tissues (ligaments, blood vessels, muscles, tendons) Signs Deformity Other symptoms similar to a fracture

JOINT INJURIES Treatment for dislocations Same as fracture Elevate and ice Stay off of it Will be some form of immobilization

JOINT INJURIES SPRAIN- An injury to the soft tissues around a joint that occurs when a joint moves beyond normal Range of Motion

JOINT INJURIES Signs Treatments Swelling & discoloration are most obvious Very similar to dislocations and fractures Treatments Same as fracture (immobilize) Rehab is lengthy because weakness of ligaments (no blood flow)
