Chancellor of the Exchequer (1923-24) Minister of Health (1923, 1924-29, 1931) Succeeded Stanley Baldwin as PM 1937
Neville Chamberlain POLITICAL VIEWS 1937-1940 followed a policy of appeasement Germany treated harshly by Allies after WWI German government had genuine grievances which needed to be addressed. By agreeing to some of the demands made by Hitler & Mussolini he could avoid a European war. May 1940 ousted from power. Served under Prime Minister Churchill as Lord President of the Council and died a few weeks after he left the post in October 1940.
