Do not participate in darkness

Conversion to Christ requires a death to take place. “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved and gave Himself up for me.” Galatians 2:20

Conversion to Christ requires a death to take place. At baptism a believer is to be dying to sin (Romans 6:1-3, 6-7). Keep putting to death those carnal desires that tempt and draw away (Colossians 3:1, 5).

What we practice shows where our fellowship is. “… do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteous- ness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead,… Do you now know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey,…?” Romans 6:13, 16

What we practice shows where our fellowship is. To practice sin is to have fellowship with the devil (1 John 3:7-9).

Christians must not compromise with darkness. Light and darkness are opponents which have nothing in common (2 Corinthians 6:14). Cleanse all defilements to perfect holiness (7:1). Sons of God are sons of light (1 Thess. 5:4-6; 1 John 1:6).

Christians must not compromise with darkness. All need constant warnings about the deceitfulness of darkness (Ephesians 5:5-12). Light does not partake of darkness but exposes it for what it is. Throw away all deeds of darkness (Romans 13:11-14).

Christians must not compromise with darkness. Radical action may be necessary to guard yourself from falling prey to darkness. “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:4-5
