What does URL means… URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator It is basically a series of characters which allow you to access a certain website on the World Wide Web Examples of URLs include: http://sg.yahoo.com/ & http://www.hwachong.edu.sg/

The Parts of a URL A URL comprises of two components: the protocol identifier and the resource locator The protocol identifier signifies the method of the search, the most common being ‘http’ http://www.hwachong.edu.sg/ The resource locator indicates the IP address or the domain name of the webpage and is separated from the protocol identifier by a ‘://’
