Thulium Symbol:Tm Atomic number:69 Description: Least available of the earth metals, as rare as silver, gold or cadmium. The element is bright and silver and it must be kept from moisture. Its soft and it can be cut with a knife.

Discovery Thulium was discovered by Per Teodor Cleve in 1879. He was looking for impurities and oxides of rare earth elements The element is named after Thule which is the ancient name for Scandinavia.

Thulium is used to make lasers, radiations sources is portable x-rays Ceramic magnetic uses in microwaves
