What Drove Our Decision to Adopt EDA? We needed a reliable and valid tool. Our CAEP visit is in the Fall of 2020. Disposition assessments can be used as evidence for Standards 1, 2, 3, & 5. We made the decision to move to Watermark as our e-portfolio, and EDA fit seamlessly into the platform.

What Support is Provided by The University of Tampa and Watermark when EPPs Choose to Use EDA? The University of Tampa provides the institution’s faculty and staff with training. This training video is then captured and sent to the education dean or department chair to train others (e.g. cooperating teachers, university supervisors). The University of Tampa provides a helpful technical guide that provides: suggestions on how to integrate the tool into an assessment plan, disposition definitions suggestions for intervention/remediation The University of Tampa will create a certificate for each individual who completes the training—just send them a list! Watermark will populate the assessment into your institution’s account.

How Do We Track the Agreement Rate for CAEP? We send the training video provided to us by the University of Tampa to those we wish to train. We also send disposition definitions and the rubric. We have created a JotForm for individuals to record their responses as they move through the training. We then calculate the agreement rate of the individual’s responses as they compare to The University of Tampa’s response for each item. Bonus: The JotForm helps us keep track of who completed the training and when. We also know what role they serve for the institution.
