Writer’s Craft Moves Organization – Boyle knows this story is confusing and helps the reader by providing sub-titles. POV – Third person creates distance which contributes to tone of dark humor Humor with dark material is deliberate choice. Why? Allusion – 3 headed dog???

Closer look at POV First Date The girl’s name is Cynthia. I pull up in front of her apartment in my father’s hearse. (My father, who I loathe and abominate, is a mortician.)
