County Facts Roscommon is the 11th largest county in Ireland. Roscommon is one of the least most popular county in Ireland. County Roscommon is a landlocked county in Ireland’s central north. Roscommon castle is a norman build. The name Roscommon is derived from Coman Mac Faelchon who built a monastery there in the fifth century. The woods near the monastery became known as Ros Comáin.

Roscommon main towns There are not that many big towns in roscommon. But there are a few. These are the towns Boyle, Frenchpark, Roscommon, Castlereagh and Ballitober.

Mountains, lakes and rivers There are not that many mountains, lakes and rivers in roscommon. There are three rivers in roscommon and the names are Boyle River, River Shannon and River Suck . There are three mountains in Roscommon Curlew Mountains, Slieve Bawn and Kilronan Mountains and here are three of the many lakes Lough Ree, Lough Key and Lough Allen.

County crest facts The writing under the crest means steadfast Irish heart. The crest has a triangle with a cross in it. It also has a sheep, a crown and a oak tree sapling.

County tourist attractions In Co.Roscommon there is not that many tourist attractions but the ones that are Lough key forest park and Zipit. Lough key is fun adventure park indoor and out. Zipit is a fun zip lining park and it is fun for all ages.
