Objectives Provide key skills necessary to prepare students to be successful in exam preparation. Provide students with stress management skills related to test anxiety.

What are three main types of exams? Closed Book Open Book Take Home

Key Steps for Test Preparation 1. Learn as much as possible about the exam prior to the exam date. Example: is it multiple choice/T of F, essay, or timed 2. Start Early- Prepare a test prep calendar 3. Decide what materials are needed to begin learning the material…. prior quizzes, lecture notes, study guide if available, charts, graphs, TEXTBOOK (those are most helpful), and instructor.

Key Steps for Test Prep 4. Be Organized: Keep notes in a system (notebook with pockets, binder notebooks to add pockets) 5. Try not to read new material while studying current material 6. Dont just memorize the material, understand it 7. Dont PROCRASTINATE 8. Arrive to exam 15 minutes early
