Legislative endorsement of technical standards, monitoring and compliance This session will review the different aspects involved in the adoption of wireless standards at national level, the need for standardization and industry best practice of radio site installations as well as methods for ensuring compliance with radio standards.   Nadi, Fiji, 4-6 July 2011

Legislative endorsement Inclusion of radio standards in regulations. Provide guidance to equipment users. Establish minimum performance requirements. Set license parameters. Avoid harmful interference. Monitoring: survey of spectrum environment and resolve interference cases. Interference cases can result from non-compliance with license or systems operating outside standards. Compliance: also relevant to importation and trade. Nadi, Fiji, 4-6 July 2011
