Mating Male approaches the female. Mating is not seasonal. Generally 1 mate per giraffe. The male rubs the backside of the female until she pees, when she does pee, he tastes it to see whether she is in heat or not! :D

Offspring The baby giraffe follows the mother as long as necessary to learn survival skills, dad doesn’t stick around, what else is new. Giraffe families are not strong ones, they rarely stick around longer than necessary. They have an average life span of 23 years.

Fun Facts! New born giraffes are usually taller than the average human. Giraffes only require 2 hours and 10 minutes of sleep. They are naturally peaceful animals.
