Mission & Vision: What & Why … to encourage a love of reading by providing free books to K-5 students. … be recognized as a model agency committed to stimulating love of learning in young people. … to provide emergency food assistance for residents of Monroe county. …to ensure food security and hope for all residents. … to meet basic infant needs for families in need. … to build a community in which basic infant needs are met for all residents.

Three Steps to a Meaningful Vision Statement 1. Start with your mission What is your purpose? What values guide that purpose?

2. Dream Why do you do your work? Where do you see your agency in 5 years? What will the community or your clients say about you?

3. Shape the Statement (in five years…) [Agency name] will ___________________ by _________________. [Agency name]’s vision is a community in which _______________.
