GET READY SETTLER ACTIVITY Get ready for the lesson: Open your research document from last lesson. Open PowerPoint. THINK ABOUT… Have you completed enough research to begin creating your presentation? What makes a good presentation?

THIS LESSON: LEARNING OBJECTIVES In this lesson you will: LEARN good strategies to create a presentation. EXPLORE the impact of emerging technologies. So that you can: CREATE a presentation on an emerging technology of your choice.

CLASS SHARE Which emerging technology are you researching? What is the most interesting fact you have found? Do you think the technology will become popular?

EMERGING TECHNOLOGY PRESENTATION Last lesson, you researched your emerging technology. This lesson, you will create a presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint. Next lesson, you will present in front of the class.

BAD EXAMPLES Today you will using PowerPoint to create your presentation. It is easy to create slides that look dreadful and a lot harder to make slides pleasing to the eye. Look at the following slides and discuss why they are bad.

CLASS DISCUSS: HOW DO YOU CREATE A GOOD PRESENTATION?

PRESENTATION TOP TIPS! The next slides show ways to make your presentations better and more creative. Please try and follow these ideas when making your own slides.

CRITERIA: You need to make sure your presentation includes the following information... AMATUER: Description of what the tech is/does. Features. Advantages/Disadvantages. References. SEMI-PRO: Comparison to current and/or past technology. Prediction of what the next steps for this tech could be. PRO: Evaluation of the impact of this technology on the way people live and different groups (young, old, disabled…). CHOOSE ONE: Space-X Virtual Reality Self Driving Cars Augmented Reality Facial Recognition Home Assistants

PEER REVIEW Share the presentation with your partner. Are you meeting the project criteria? Provide a ‘What Went Well’ comment to the research document. Provide an ‘Even Better If’ comment to the research document.

NEXT LESSON Next lesson, you will be presenting your project on emerging technologies to the rest of the class. The presentation will be assessed by the teacher. Use time at home to prepare further.
