Integrated electronic data collection system (ELEKTRA) It was introduced in 2013 Before the introduction of ELEKTRA system the questionnaires could be sent in: In paper form By e-mail (in excel) Through KSH XML system Compulsory for everyone It must be applied for all HCSO survey Available online, no need to install programs Less printing costs Built-in checks 3
-The ELEKTRA system is available from the Office’s homepage -Elektra is an electronic data collection system, a websurvey that the data providers can fill easier than the excel form

On the opening surface of ELEKTRA, respondents can check: - The list of questionnaires which they are due to send in - Archive for older questionnaires - Deadline for sending in the questionnaire - Status of the questionnaire: Already sent in Modified New - Reference number of the questionnaire

How is different from simple excel survey? Excel form filled by hand Data should be equal between tables Inconsistency can occure between tables „Human errors” Consequence: Lots of errors Lots of asks to revise data (phone calls, emails, coordination with dataproviders, etc.)

How does Elektra work? What is in the background? Step by step
Indicator of outgoing freight transport Each data has its indicator in the cells. It is called „Source catalogue” Indicator of outgoing freight transport Each indicator has its own source code which immediately identifies it in the Database All validation rules are based on the source code (see later as „specification”)

The results We have less work with: No need to type in the excell questionnaire Automated built-in validation rules for the data consistency within the questionnaire Better quality data Data arrives directly into the database We still have work with: Y2Y checks, time series Consictency between questionnaires: quarterly and annually (Annex E and Annex A/C) Future plan: Elektra version 2.0 (in progress to develop the system)
