Introduce Home Page and how to login Home Page is available to everyone and has information about Partners, RCEs Worldwide and News
Once you login, you’re taken to your own Home Page, which shows the various items that you might be interested in follow (i.e. particular groups, particular news or blog items, particular activities) You can edit this however you like
Among the things the portal can do (we don’t have time to show it all): 1. It has a news page of news and events that are posted by the RCE Service Center
2. You can post your own news on the Blog Page – you can decide if you want everyone, including the general public to see your post or if you just want members who are logged in to see it
3. You can upload files, including case studies, reports and brochures 3. You can upload files, including case studies, reports and brochures. You can also decide if you want everyone to be able to view this or only members who have login access.
4. You can also create COMMUNITIES, which are online working groups 4. You can also create COMMUNITIES, which are online working groups. These can be open to all RCE members or can be private groups. Here you can share ideas on a particular topic or theme – people can post photos, files, comments or questions and all group members will be able to read and respond.
The key to the portal is the SEARCH tool. If you want to find information on a particular topic, just search for it in the SEARCH box.
Once you search, results from all the various areas of the portal will show up on your screen – you can see files that have been uploaded on that topic, comments that have been written in the online forums or various pages that have been created around it.
To make sure that it is easy to organize and access the information, we have created a TAGGING TAXONOMY – essentially a list of key words that you should use whenever you want to upload a file or write a comment. That way, anyone who is interested in that particular topic can easily find the information you’ve uploaded to the portal.
