We want the Discovery to be…

For children and young people…

So how do we achieve that? Inspiration We started by looking at what’s already out there on child rights, the Commonwealth, . What works, well, is inspiring and engages CYP Here are just a few examples (paper and physical) – I haven’t shown them all here

So how do we achieve that? Concept and format ideas Get rights Get the Commonwealth Get active Get involved 3-8 8-13 13-18 So how do we achieve that? Concept and format ideas The ‘framework’ A pack – activities, journal, diary, quiz, log, ideas/inspiration stimulator, information for helpers. With an achievement – gold/silver/bronze medal, certificate or attainment? Get rights and Get the Commonwealth Discover – learn through the resources or activities we point to Produce – a picture, video, song, game, presentation… Share – in an assembly, to your friends, on social media, through an exhibition? Get active and Get involved Take part, volunteer, speak up, advocate and accumulate what you’ve done. There are lots and lots of resources out there. Framework We want to lead CYP on a journey through these resources, to discover for themselves and to engage with their rights and with the Commonwealth. We can provide a FRAMEWORK for that engagement process, that leads to a feeling of achievement and a tangible achievement – a certificate, medal, something for the CV. The framework might include – activities, ideas, journal, log (online), lots of signposting 1 and 2 Discover – sign post to resources, set activities to help discover Produce – a video, picture, song, presentation etc Share – in assembly, to your friends, on social media, exhibit Leads on to 3 and 4, which determine the achievement – a ‘gateway’ 3 and 4 Diary, journal, record log, app Accumulate activities to determine gold silver and bronze

Over to you… Brilliant/useful resources we might not know about. What will engage and inspire each age range? Think about formats, activities and so on. Any no nos? Are the age ranges right and appropriate? Formats – app, diary, log Activities – games, quiz etc
