ENVIRONMENT where will this be done? The task will be undertaken predominantly using a Windows Laptop as the main computing device as well as, at times, an iPhone to access the course StudyDesk. This includes links to: Discussion forums Weblogs Weblogs Twitter Twitter Diigo Diigo

SKILLS what strengths/ weaknesses helps/prevents this from getting done? I am a 3 rd year University student who is a confident, competent and experienced computer user that posses the skills to sufficiently navigate the StudyDesk.

TOOLS what needs to be done to rectify this problem? 1. Open a New Tab This function on the internets browser is the simplest of solutions to this problem. Pressing CTRL + T, allows you to open up an additional blank tab in which the new page can be loaded and displayed, without navigating away from the previous page you were on. You can have up to as many tabs as you want open at once time and it is easy to navigate between the tabs simply by clicking on the distinct tab you want. The tab also a displays a small thumbnail of the icon of the page as well as a brief title or description about the page so the user can clearly distinguish between pages, eliminating the need to push the back button. To do this you can follow simple instructions like the one published by Microsoft Windows located below.

Saving the Link If you would like a keep a list of the all the pages, to be referred back to at a later date, you can save the link address of the page by simply right clicking the link and choosing the location for the link to be saved. Below is a walkthrough of how to do this:

TOOLS what needs to be done to rectify this problem? 3. Creating a Bookmark This function I have found to be most beneficial for me in organising and keeping track of all course information. Creating a bookmark allows you to directly save the web address of the page you are accessing onto your web browser. It only takes seconds to save the address which also gives you the option of choosing the location for it to be saved, as well as option to change the name of the page. There is an infinite amount of bookmarks that can be saved and it is very convenient for time management as it only takes seconds to choose the bookmark you desire and be redirected straight to that page. I highly recommended incorporating bookmarking with creating new tabs to organise all the pages you might need open at one time. Below is a link to a Google instructions on using bookmarks.
