The Pilgrims First Winter The Pilgrims did not have a lot of food. They were very sick. The Pilgrims weren’t prepared for life in America. They weren’t used to the environment of the Eastern Woodlands winter. It was very cold!

The Wampanoag’s and Pilgrims Meet The Wampanoag’s and Pilgrims did not get along at first….WHY?!

The Pilgrims built homes on the Wampanoag land without asking. The Pilgrims took food and seed corn from a Wampanoag family. The Wampanoag's did not trust the Pilgrims at first because they were different from them.

The Wampanoag’s Help the Pilgrims The Wampanoag's taught the Pilgrims how to hunt, fish, and plant food. They traded with the Pilgrims. The Wampanoag's said they would not steal from or fight with the Pilgrims.

Comparing Wampanoag's and Pilgrims: How are they the SAME? They both got food from the land. Men and boys had to hunt and fish for food. Women and girls planted and took care of the crops. They both built their homes from materials found on the land.
