What Is JRSO What is J.R.S.O? St.Cadoc’s has five junior road safety officers. We teach other people in the school how to be safe near roads. What we are aiming to do is provide information to parents and pupils to encourage them to make sensible travel choices to reduce traffic and also most importantly ensure all pupils can reach and leave school safely.

Hands up if you have walked on our new path yet It’s a great way to walk to school and back. There is lots of animals there including all the ones in our house system.

Tom is our school lollypop man he does a great job. Next time you are walking across the road then you could say thank you to him.

Always wear a helmet as you could injure yourself. Always wait until the red man goes green. Wait for the lollipop man if he is near by Remember to look left and right when crossing the road.

Maybe if the weather is not bad then you could ask your parents to drop you off and walk the rest of the way to school. You could also cycle if your parents let you. Some people live to far away to walk to school, so if that is the case then you could ask to walk from the Harvie Avenue shops or the Baptist Church.

Never park on double yellow lines or zigzags this is illegal. Don’t park on corners as this restricts visibility for pedestrians. Don’t park on areas used by the lollypop man/woman. Don’t ever stop your car on the middle of the road on the school hill, this can cause congestion and can be dangerous.

Question 1= Should you wear a helmet on a bike or in a car ?

Answer 1= On a bike

Question 2= Should you cross the road if there is no green man, and no cars that are near you? Would you do it?

Answer 2= No.

Question 3= Should you drive a car without a driving licence?

Answer 3= No of course not.
