Does anyone know what a hectare is? The ecological footprint measures our consumption in acres or hectares. One acre is 43,560 square feet One hectare = 100 meters by 100 meters Imagine that you walked 100 steps in each direction to make a square. You would have a pretty good outline of one hectare. The next time you are outside the school, in a soccer or football field, try taking 100 steps in one direction and see how far it is. Imagine a square that is 100 steps by 100 steps. One hectare is equal to one football field. Does anyone know what a hectare is?

Acre to Hectare Conversion 1 hectares = 2.47105381 acres Convert the number of hectares into acres by dividing your number by 2.47 My ecological footprint is 19.29 acres 19.29 acres x 1 hectare 2.47 acres = 7.8 hectares

After coming up with these answers, explore the site and see what you could do differently to lessen your ecological footprint. Then complete the data chart, and answer the analysis questions. These should be done on your own.
