Jupiter The Red Dot on Jupiter is a storm that lasted for over 300 years. James and Amy

History Galileo discovered Jupiter using a telescope in 1609 in Italy. Jupiter got it’s name from the Greek god Zeus Jupiter’s symbol looks like a 4, a 2 and a 1 mixed together.

Solar System Jupiter is the 5th planet in the solar system. Jupiter is 483 million miles away from the sun. It takes Jupiter 11.9 of Earth’s years to orbit the sun. It takes 9.84 hours for Jupiter to make one full day.

Moons Jupiter has 50 official moons and 12 unofficial moons. One of the most famous moons is Io. This is a picture of Io.
