“TERMS TO KNOW” Vocabulary Exercise You have ten (10) minutes to find, write down, and study the definitions for the following words. We will use them for our analysis of the next three slides. Duties Responsibilities Bureaucracy Volunteer Welfare

The Importance Of Education ***REMEMBER!!!!*** IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR WHICH DETERMINES A PERSON’S FUTURE INCOME LEVEL!!!

“Why Should We Take Part In Our Communities?” Why are bureaucracies considered to be so troubling? What would happen if communities did not have citizens who were willing to perform volunteer services? What does community welfare refer to? What are some of the ways citizens can volunteer in their communities?

“How Can I Make My Community Better?” Class Assignment Construct two (2) pyramid graphic organizers and rearrange the duties and responsibilities listed two slides earlier into what YOU FEEL is the order they should be in (you cannot use the order given). For each duty and responsibility describe IN DETAIL in your opinion the single best way how a citizen can fulfill it.

“Exit Slip” Identify the difference between duties and responsibilities. Describe the consequences associated with not having a sound education. Describe what would happen to a community if “volunteers” were not available.
