Saving the Thessalonians: A Blueprint for Evangelism In 1 Thessalonians 2:1-11, Paul reflects back on the conversion of the Thessalonians, and in so doing gives us a virtual blueprint for evangelism today. 1 Thessalonians 2:1-11

Keys to Effective Evangelism (1 Thessalonians 2:1-11) Prior bad experiences did not keep Paul from evangelizing (2:1-2; Acts 16:16-24) The content and intent of the preaching was pure and good (2:3; Matthew 23:15; Galatians 4:17; 2 Peter 2:18; 2 Timothy 3:6)

Keys to Effective Evangelism (1 Thessalonians 2:1-11) Paul preached to please God (2:4; Gal. 1:10) Paul had no carnal tactics or ambitions (2:5-6) No flattery (Proverbs 29:5; Romans 16:18) No covetousness (2 Peter 2:3) No personal glory.

Keys to Effective Evangelism (1 Thessalonians 2:1-11) Gently imparting the gospel (2:7-8, 11) Giving of self to develop genuine relationships (2:8-9) Living an exemplary life (2:10) Let us be, “blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world, holding forth the word of life…” (Philippians 2:15-16)
