Presentation transcript:

Georgina’s Gang have continued to assist young people in need of specialist equipment and emotional support in Guernsey, as well as those with Neimann Pick and their families beyond our shores. Losing Georgina has continued to be very hard, and we are so grateful to be able to keep Georgina’s name and spirit alive. She would be as proud of you, as we are. Here’s to a 2018 full of hope, kindness and generosity. Take a look at what we have achieved with your help & continuing support over the last year….. Please note that photo’s are not available for all slides. This is down to parents/families requesting anonymity.

Shay Shay sadly passed away in June after his battle with Neimann Pick Type A. He and his family were able to ‘Treasure Every Moment’ spent together during his short life. Thanks to all the support received, he was able to benefit from a specialist buggy, sensory toys, bath seat and most importantly the love and support of his family…RIP Shay

Buggy adaptations A young local boy with an as yet undiagnosed condition, required a specialist pushchair. With some modifications we were able to offer the use of a previously purchased G Gang pushchair to aid him and his family

Mel’s wheelchair Jayne Vaudin and our committee member Jo set off on raising funds for Mel’s wheelchair. Mel now has a lightweight, more user friendly frame and is able to navigate a lot easier

Sam’s extension Sam’s deteriorating condition meant that he was struggling to get up the stairs and needed a much more accessible and enabling environment…he now has purpose built wet room and bedroom and is able to be as independent as possible

Sam’s extension Sam’s mum says: Georgina’s Gang have been an immense help at a very difficult and challenging time for us as a family and especially in helping Sam retain some level of independence whilst coping with the diagnosis of Becker Muscular Dystrophy. Words cannot express how grateful we are to both Tania and Donna and of course Georgina’s Gang charity

Matt’s bathroom adaptations BEFORE The old bathroom, with the toilet and basin too close together to manoeuvre a bathroom wheelchair ‘The shower was a back breaking challenge, limited space and the step up to it made it a very interesting manoeuvre’

Matt’s bathroom adaptations AFTER Matt’s family said ‘We are so pleased with both adaptions, Matthew is already having a shower every other day now! Soon to be done independently we hope. The space that has been created is fantastic, and it feels so much safer with the non slip floor, none of this could have been achieved so quickly without the generosity of your charity’

Car seat Due to hypermobility, a requirement for a larger than an ‘off the shelf’ car seat was required Mum says: ‘thanks again the seat is awesome and most importantly safe’

“Treasure Every Moment” Please let us know if we can help you or someone you know Thank you for all of your continuing support over the years
