Fig 1 Types of wave forms recorded by pulse volume recording plethysmography. Normal: characterized by rapid systolic up-slope, a sharp systolic peak, and a diastolic down-slope with a dicrotic wave. Absence of reflected wave: a rapid ascending limb, an anacrotic notch, and a dicrotic notch high on the down-slope.
