The Promise of the Holy Spirit John 7:38-39 He who believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, "Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." (39) (But He spoke this about the Spirit, which they who believed on Him should receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.) مَنْ آمَنَ بِي كَمَا قَالَ الْكِتَابُ تَجْرِي مِنْ بَطْنِهِ أَنْهَارُ مَاءٍ حَيٍّ». (39) قَالَ هَذَا عَنِ الرُّوحِ الَّذِي كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ مُزْمِعِينَ أَنْ يَقْبَلُوهُ لأَنَّ الرُّوحَ الْقُدُسَ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَدْ أُعْطِيَ بَعْدُ لأَنَّ يَسُوعَ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَدْ مُجِّدَ بَعْدُ.

Acts 1:4-5 The Waiting On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. (5) For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.“ وَفِيمَا هُوَ مُجْتَمِعٌ مَعَهُمْ أَوْصَاهُمْ أَنْ لاَ يَبْرَحُوا مِنْ أُورُشَلِيمَ بَلْ يَنْتَظِرُوا «مَوْعِدَ الآبِ الَّذِي سَمِعْتُمُوهُ مِنِّي (5) لأَنَّ يُوحَنَّا عَمَّدَ بِالْمَاءِ وَأَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَسَتَتَعَمَّدُونَ بِالرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ لَيْسَ بَعْدَ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ بِكَثِيرٍ».

Acts 2:2-4 The Day of Pentecost وَصَارَ بَغْتَةً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ صَوْتٌ كَمَا مِنْ هُبُوبِ رِيحٍ عَاصِفَةٍ وَمَلأَ كُلَّ الْبَيْتِ حَيْثُ كَانُوا جَالِسِينَ وَظَهَرَتْ لَهُمْ أَلْسِنَةٌ مُنْقَسِمَةٌ كَأَنَّهَا مِنْ نَارٍ وَاسْتَقَرَّتْ عَلَى كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ. وَامْتَلأَ الْجَمِيعُ مِنَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ وَابْتَدَأُوا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ بِأَلْسِنَةٍ أُخْرَى كَمَا أَعْطَاهُمُ الرُّوحُ أَنْ يَنْطِقُوا. Acts 2:2-4 The Day of Pentecost   2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.  3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.  4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

For the Promise is to you Acts 2:32-33 God raised up this Jesus, of which we all are witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this which you now see and hear. 2:38-39 Then Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call. فَيَسُوعُ هَذَا أَقَامَهُ اللهُ وَنَحْنُ جَمِيعاً شُهُودٌ لِذَلِكَ. وَإِذِ ارْتَفَعَ بِيَمِينِ اللهِ وَأَخَذَ مَوْعِدَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ مِنَ الآبِ سَكَبَ هَذَا الَّذِي أَنْتُمُ الآنَ تُبْصِرُونَهُ وَتَسْمَعُونَهُ. فَقَالَ لَهُمْ بُطْرُسُ: «تُوبُوا وَلْيَعْتَمِدْ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى اسْمِ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ لِغُفْرَانِ الْخَطَايَا فَتَقْبَلُوا عَطِيَّةَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ. لأَنَّ الْمَوْعِدَ هُوَ لَكُمْ وَلأَوْلاَدِكُمْ وَلِكُلِّ الَّذِينَ عَلَى بُعْدٍ كُلِّ مَنْ يَدْعُوهُ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُنَا».

The dwelling of the Holy Spirit John 14:17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see Him nor know Him. But you know Him, for He dwells with you and shall be in you. رُوحُ الْحَقِّ الَّذِي لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُ الْعَالَمُ أَنْ يَقْبَلَهُ لأَنَّهُ لاَ يَرَاهُ وَلاَ يَعْرِفُهُ وَأَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَتَعْرِفُونَهُ لأَنَّهُ مَاكِثٌ مَعَكُمْ وَيَكُونُ فِيكُمْ. 1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? أَمَا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّكُمْ هَيْكَلُ اللهِ وَرُوحُ اللهِ يَسْكُنُ فِيكُمْ؟

1-The Holy Spirit gives power for witnessing Acts 4:31,33 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness. (33) And the apostles gave witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power. And great grace was on them all. وَلَمَّا صَلَّوْا تَزَعْزَعَ الْمَكَانُ الَّذِي كَانُوا مُجْتَمِعِينَ فِيهِ وَامْتَلأَ الْجَمِيعُ مِنَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ وَكَانُوا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ بِكَلاَمِ اللهِ بِمُجَاهَرَةٍ. (33) وَبِقُوَّةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ كَانَ الرُّسُلُ يُؤَدُّونَ الشَّهَادَةَ بِقِيَامَةِ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ وَنِعْمَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ كَانَتْ عَلَى جَمِيعِهِمْ

2- The Holy Spirit purifies the church Acts 5:3-5 But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart for you to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land? (4) While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own authority? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God. (5) And hearing these words, Ananias fell down and expired. And great fear came on all those who heard these things. فَقَالَ بُطْرُسُ: «يَا حَنَانِيَّا لِمَاذَا مَلأَ الشَّيْطَانُ قَلْبَكَ لِتَكْذِبَ عَلَى الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ وَتَخْتَلِسَ مِنْ ثَمَنِ الْحَقْلِ؟ (4) أَلَيْسَ وَهُوَ بَاقٍ كَانَ يَبْقَى لَكَ؟ وَلَمَّا بِيعَ أَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي سُلْطَانِكَ؟ فَمَا بَالُكَ وَضَعْتَ فِي قَلْبِكَ هَذَا الأَمْرَ؟ أَنْتَ لَمْ تَكْذِبْ عَلَى النَّاسِ بَلْ عَلَى اللهِ». (5) فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ حَنَانِيَّا هَذَا الْكَلاَمَ وَقَعَ وَمَاتَ. وَصَارَ خَوْفٌ عَظِيمٌ عَلَى جَمِيعِ الَّذِينَ سَمِعُوا بِذَلِكَ.

3- The Holy Spirit is needed for service Acts 6:3-5 Therefore, brothers, look out among you seven men being witnessed to, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this duty. (4) But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. (5) And the saying pleased all the multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, فَانْتَخِبُوا أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ سَبْعَةَ رِجَالٍ مِنْكُمْ مَشْهُوداً لَهُمْ وَمَمْلُوِّينَ مِنَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ وَحِكْمَةٍ فَنُقِيمَهُمْ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْحَاجَةِ. (4) وَأَمَّا نَحْنُ فَنُواظِبُ عَلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَخِدْمَةِ الْكَلِمَةِ». (5) فَحَسُنَ هَذَا الْقَوْلُ أَمَامَ كُلِّ الْجُمْهُورِ فَاخْتَارُوا اسْتِفَانُوسَ رَجُلاً مَمْلُوّاً مِنَ الإِيمَانِ وَالرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ

4- The Holy Spirit gives strength to endure persecution Acts 7:54-56 When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. (55) But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. (56) "Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." فَلَمَّا سَمِعُوا هَذَا حَنِقُوا بِقُلُوبِهِمْ وَصَرُّوا بِأَسْنَانِهِمْ عَلَيْهِ. (55) وَأَمَّا هُوَ فَشَخَصَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ مُمْتَلِئٌ مِنَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ فَرَأَى مَجْدَ اللهِ وَيَسُوعَ قَائِماً عَنْ يَمِينِ اللهِ. (56) فَقَالَ: «هَا أَنَا أَنْظُرُ السَّمَاوَاتِ مَفْتُوحَةً وَابْنَ الإِنْسَانِ قَائِماً عَنْ يَمِينِ اللهِ».

5- The Holy Spirit gives power for resisting evil Acts 13:8-10 But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith. (9) Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, (10) "You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? قَاوَمَهُمَا عَلِيمٌ السَّاحِرُ لأَنْ هَكَذَا يُتَرْجَمُ اسْمُهُ طَالِباً أَنْ يُفْسِدَ الْوَالِيَ عَنِ الإِيمَانِ. (9) وَأَمَّا شَاوُلُ الَّذِي هُوَ بُولُسُ أَيْضاً فَامْتَلأَ مِنَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ وَشَخَصَ إِلَيْهِ (10) وَقَالَ: «أَيُّهَا الْمُمْتَلِئُ كُلَّ غِشٍّ وَكُلَّ خُبْثٍ! يَا ابْنَ إِبْلِيسَ! يَا عَدُوَّ كُلِّ بِرٍّ! أَلاَ تَزَالُ تُفْسِدُ سُبُلَ اللهِ الْمُسْتَقِيمَةَ؟

6- The Holy Spirit prophesying to the church Acts 21:10-11 And as we stayed more days, a certain prophet from Judea named Agabus came down. (11) And coming to us, and taking Paul's belt, and binding his hands and feet, he said, The Holy Spirit says these things: So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man whose belt this is, and will deliver him into the hands of the nations. وَبَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مُقِيمُونَ أَيَّاماً كَثِيرَةً انْحَدَرَ مِنَ الْيَهُودِيَّةِ نَبِيٌّ اسْمُهُ أَغَابُوسُ. (11) فَجَاءَ إِلَيْنَا وَأَخَذَ مِنْطَقَةَ بُولُسَ وَرَبَطَ يَدَيْ نَفْسِهِ وَرِجْلَيْهِ وَقَالَ: «هَذَا يَقُولُهُ الرُّوحُ الْقُدُسُ: الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي لَهُ هَذِهِ الْمِنْطَقَةُ هَكَذَا سَيَرْبُطُهُ الْيَهُودُ فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ وَيُسَلِّمُونَهُ إِلَى أَيْدِي الْأُمَمِ».

The Holy Spirit in the believers Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. وَأَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَلَسْتُمْ فِي الْجَسَدِ بَلْ فِي الرُّوحِ إِنْ كَانَ رُوحُ اللهِ سَاكِناً فِيكُمْ. وَلَكِنْ إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ لَيْسَ لَهُ رُوحُ الْمَسِيحِ فَذَلِكَ لَيْسَ لَهُ. Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of the One who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One who raised up Christ from the dead shall also make your mortal bodies alive by His Spirit who dwells in you. وَإِنْ كَانَ رُوحُ الَّذِي أَقَامَ يَسُوعَ مِنَ الأَمْوَاتِ سَاكِناً فِيكُمْ فَالَّذِي أَقَامَ الْمَسِيحَ مِنَ الأَمْوَاتِ يُحْيِي أَجْسَادَكُمُ الْمَائِتَةَ أَيْضاً بِرُوحِهِ السَّاكِنِ فِيكُمْ.

The Holy Spirit in the believers Romans 8:15 For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba, Father! إِذْ لَمْ تَأْخُذُوا رُوحَ الْعُبُودِيَّةِ أَيْضاً لِلْخَوْفِ بَلْ أَخَذْتُمْ رُوحَ التَّبَنِّي الَّذِي بِهِ نَصْرُخُ: «يَا أَبَا الآبُ!». Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. وَكَذَلِكَ الرُّوحُ أَيْضاً يُعِينُ ضَعَفَاتِنَا لأَنَّنَا لَسْنَا نَعْلَمُ مَا نُصَلِّي لأَجْلِهِ كَمَا يَنْبَغِي. وَلَكِنَّ الرُّوحَ نَفْسَهُ يَشْفَعُ فِينَا بِأَنَّاتٍ لاَ يُنْطَقُ بِهَا.

The Holy Spirit in the believers 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you. But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. وَهَكَذَا كَانَ أُنَاسٌ مِنْكُمْ. لَكِنِ اغْتَسَلْتُمْ بَلْ تَقَدَّسْتُمْ بَلْ تَبَرَّرْتُمْ بِاسْمِ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ وَبِرُوحِ إِلَهِنَا. 1 Peter 1:22 Purifying your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently out of a pure heart, طَهِّرُوا نُفُوسَكُمْ فِي طَاعَةِ الْحَقِّ بِالرُّوحِ لِلْمَحَبَّةِ الأَخَوِيَّةِ الْعَدِيمَةِ الرِّيَاءِ، فَأَحِبُّوا بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضاً مِنْ قَلْبٍ طَاهِرٍ بِشِدَّةٍ.

Sinning against the Holy Spirit Matthew 12:31 Therefore I say to you, All kinds of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. لِذَلِكَ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: كُلُّ خَطِيَّةٍ وَتَجْدِيفٍ يُغْفَرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَأَمَّا التَّجْدِيفُ عَلَى الرُّوحِ فَلَنْ يُغْفَرَ لِلنَّاسِ. Acts 7:51 O stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so you do. «يَا قُسَاةَ الرِّقَابِ وَغَيْرَ الْمَخْتُونِينَ بِالْقُلُوبِ وَالآذَانِ أَنْتُمْ دَائِماً تُقَاوِمُونَ الرُّوحَ الْقُدُسَ. كَمَا كَانَ آبَاؤُكُمْ كَذَلِكَ أَنْتُمْ. Sinning against the Holy Spirit Ephesians 4:29-30 Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up in respect of need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing. (30) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption. لاَ تَخْرُجْ كَلِمَةٌ رَدِيَّةٌ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِكُمْ، بَلْ كُلُّ مَا كَانَ صَالِحاً لِلْبُنْيَانِ، حَسَبَ الْحَاجَةِ، كَيْ يُعْطِيَ نِعْمَةً لِلسَّامِعِينَ. (30) وَلاَ تُحْزِنُوا رُوحَ اللهِ الْقُدُّوسَ الَّذِي بِهِ خُتِمْتُمْ لِيَوْمِ الْفِدَاءِ. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-20 Do not quench the Spirit. (20) Do not despise prophesying. لاَ تُطْفِئُوا الرُّوحَ. (20) لاَ تَحْتَقِرُوا النُّبُوَّاتِ.

Summary A- The work of the Holy Spirit in the church of Jesus Christ: Empowerment – Purification – Service – Enduring persecution Resisting evil – Prophesying to the church. B- The dwelling of the Holy Spirit in the believers: Essential – Reviving – Adoption – Intercession Sanctification – Purification. C- Sinning against the Holy Spirit: Blasphemy – Resisting – Lying – Grieving – Quenching

Church without The Holy Spirit is a Dead Church

رُؤْيَا يُوحَنَّا اَلأَصْحَاحُ ﭐلثَّالِثُ 1“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, “These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. 2Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. 1وَاكْتُبْ إِلَى مَلاَكِ ﭐلْكَنِيسَةِ ﭐلَّتِي فِي سَارْدِسَ: ”هَذَا يَقُولُهُ ﭐلَّذِي لَهُ سَبْعَةُ أَرْوَاحِ ﭐللهِ وَﭐلسَّبْعَةُ ﭐلْكَوَاكِبُ: أَنَا عَارِفٌ أَعْمَالَكَ، أَنَّ لَكَ ﭐسْماً أَنَّكَ حَيٌّ وَأَنْتَ مَيِّتٌ. 2كُنْ سَاهِراً وَشَدِّدْ مَا بَقِيَ، ﭐلَّذِي هُوَ عَتِيدٌ أَنْ يَمُوتَ، لأَنِّي لَمْ أَجِدْ أَعْمَالَكَ كَامِلَةً أَمَامَ ﭐللهِ.
