Britton’s and Wilson’s BREAKING NEWSletter November 7th – November 11th ELA:  We will begin our wondering/questioning unit. Our text this week is titled A Day’s Work. In writing, we will begin writing fictional narratives. Vocabulary: Shuffle: slide the feet along the ground or floor while walking. When people shuffle, they barely lift their feet. Swarm: a large group of people or insects that gather or move together. Urgent: very important. Motion: tell someone something through the movement of the head, hand, or other part of the body. Prowl: move quietly or secretly, trying not to be seen or heard. Blow your top: get very angry. Math: Our math skill this week is finding the area of a rectilinear figure. Announcements: We will have a student holiday on Tuesday, November 8th. Exercise your right and cast your vote that day! We will have a canned food drive November 7th – 18th. Please send something for a needy family for Thanksgiving. Some of our 3rd grade students(not our classes) will be saluting Veterans at 9 a.m. in the cafeteria on Friday morning. Bring a Vet to watch. We are collecting box tops. Please contribute if possible. Thanks in advance! Please remember to send a snack with your child each day. Snacks are also available for purchase (50 cents each). Join Remind by texting @rm8squad to 81010. This is how we send out reminders/announcements. November 11th Be sure to encourage your child to read each night. They should be reading at least 20 minutes. Ask your child about what they are reading and what is happening in their book. They love to share their reading knowledge with you! All ELA homework is due on THURSDAY.
