How To Find The Way Of Escape 1 Corinthians 10:13

Recognize That There is One We will never find ourselves in a situation in which our only choice is to sin How can we be sure of this? .,. “God is faithful” -- He has promised, therefore it will come to pass (cf. Heb. 6:17-18) We need to believe that the way of escape is there if we hope to find it

Learn To Discern Right From Wrong This is about sin and temptation -- in the context, what is wrong is that which violates God’s law (1 Jn. 3:4) The Scriptures train us in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 5:14) Any time we are tempted, we have the option to do what is right

Since the option to do right is there, we must consider our options We simply need to make better choices (from the Sermon on the Mount): Matthew 7:13-14 -- broad or narrow way? Matthew 7:15-20 -- false teachers or the truth? Matthew 7:21-23 -- the Lord's will or iniquity? Matthew 7:24-27 -- follow the Lord's sayings or not?

Have A Desire To Escape Sin We must have a desire to “please [God] in all respects” (Col. 1:10) -- we might know what is right, but have a desire to do what is wrong anyway Why might one knowingly violate the law of God?
