Awaken Women’s Conference

Vision for Awaken Encourage women to pursue a vibrant and abundant relationship with Jesus Christ Wake women to the challenge of glorifying God Equip women in their callings through the word of God Build meaningful relationships across denominational lines

Awaken Theme Verse 1 Thessalonians 5:6 So then, let us not sleep as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.

Colossians 1:9-12 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

Two Questions Why should we continually be increasing in our knowledge of God? How do we increase in our knowledge of God?

A. Why should we continually be increasing in the knowledge of God? The better we know God, the more we will love Him. Mark 12:30 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.

A. Why should we continually be increasing in the knowledge of God? The better we know God, the more we will love Him. “The heart cannot love what the mind does not know.” -Jen Wilkin

A. Why should we continually be increasing in the knowledge of God? 2. The better we know God, the more we will trust Him. Isaiah 43:10 “You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me.

A. Why should we continually be increasing in the knowledge of God? 3. The better we know God, the more we will boast of Him. Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus says the Lord, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.

A. Why should we continually be increasing in the knowledge of God? 4. The better we know God, the more we will experience eternal life with Him. John 17:3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

A. Why should we continually be increasing in the knowledge of God? 5. The better we know God, the more discerning we will be. 2 Peter 3:17-18 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall away from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

A. Why should we continually be increasing in the knowledge of God? 6. The better we know God, the more we will experience His delight. Hosea 6:6 For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

B. How do we increase in our knowledge of God? We get to know God better through His Word.

B. How do we increase in our knowledge of God? We get to know God better through His Word. God’s Word renews our minds. Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

B. How do we increase in our knowledge of God? We get to know God better through His Word. b. God’s Word gives us spiritual wisdom and understanding. Colossians 1:9 …filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

B. How do we increase in our knowledge of God? We get to know God better through His Word. c. God’s Word reveals Christ to us. Ephesians 1:17 [I pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.

B. How do we increase in our knowledge of God? 2. We get to know God better through time and experience.

All of time is moving towards this one purpose: Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Application Are you growing in your knowledge of God? Does your calendar and the way you spend your time reflect a passionate pursuit of God? How are you actively seeking to know your God better?
