Alcohol and Drug Foundation Elissa and Michael

Purpose, mission and focus Alcohol and Drug Foundation is Australia’s leading organization committed to preventing alcohol and other drug harms in our communities. The ADF’s main focus is the goal of primary prevention, working hard to address the causes of alcohol and other drug problems before they surface and develop into a problem. They are a highly educated organisation that is aware of all the triggers for potential drug abuse and addiction.

What do they do??? They have many different programs that support their mission which is working with the government to create sustainable social change that supports health and well-being for all especially youth. Examples of those programs are: the drug action teams that works with local communities and families to prevent any harm from drugs or alcohol, the Good Sports program which includes over 7000 clubs in a full day of playing different sports. A very effective program that ADF is progressing is “Breaking the Ice” as ice is becoming the most used drug in Australia. They make posters and online learning books about the consequences of drugs and alcohol

How do they get fund? The ADF work in partnership with government, corporates, the for-purpose sector and Australia’s diverse communities to create sustainable social change that supports health and well-being for all. They get donations as well.

Jay Morris’s story https://youtu.be/sqME-o2SRcY

Would I use it…… We would definitely recommend ADF if we know a friend or a family member if they under the control of drugs or alcohol, and that’s because they’re extremely well educated and they understand all the contributing factors.
