Always wear an apron or protective clothes when working with chemicals.

Always tie back loose or long hair.

Always wear goggles or safety glasses to prevent getting anything into your eyes.

Always read the labels on chemicals and pay attention to any warnings. Never mix chemicals just to see what will happen!!

Never play around during experiments.

Maintain a suitable lab work area. No food or drink. Keep your area neat and clean - put extra books and supplies away. Only keep the chemicals you need - do not have them spread out around you where they can spill.

Always wash your hands after handling lab materials.

Tell a teacher immediately if there is broken glass. Don’t touch it - it could cut you!
