Ongoing Committee Initiatives Review existing white papers for accuracy and relevancy http://optn.transplant.hrsa.gov/resources/ethics Some of the white papers will be ready for Board review in June 2015 Hello, my name is X and I am the Region X representative serving on the Ethics Committee. The OPTN website contains 11 white papers developed by the Ethics Committee during the past 22 years. The Committee is reviewing each white paper for accuracy and relevancy.

Ongoing Committee Initiatives Ethical Implications of Imminent Death Donation Workgroup considering ethical implications of imminent death donation This work is in very preliminary stages The Ethics Committee is leading a workgroup considering the ethical implication of imminent death donation. The work group includes representatives from the Ethics, Living Donor, Operations and Safety and OPO Committees.

Ongoing Committee Initiatives Consider if Living Donor Recovery Hospitals Should be Responsible for Providing Care for Post-operative Complications Newly approved project Could lead to the development of a white paper on this topic Will not result in proposed policy Consider if Living Donor Recovery Hospitals Should be Responsible for Providing Care for Post-operative Complications The Policy Oversight Committee approved this project The Committee has consulted the Living Donor, Patient Affairs, Operations and Safety, Transplant Coordinators and Transplant Administers Committees to determine the scope of this issue.
